The Woven Mosaic is a proposed coalition formally uniting the Jewish and Persian-Iranian communities in Canada, rooted in twenty-five centuries of alliance and built for the next generation.

“We are standing together in the streets, but we have no formal home. The energy is real. The structure is missing.”
Since late 2023, Persian and Jewish communities across Canada have stood beside each other at rallies, vigils, and public demonstrations. The solidarity is real, and it matters. But without a formal structure, it risks fading away.
Since late 2023, Persian and Jewish communities have shown up for each other at rallies across Canada.
Despite how strong this bond has become, there are zero formal coalitions uniting us in Canada today.
Without a formal structure, our shared energy risks fading away and this moment will be lost.
We're missing a rare chance to lead and protect one another for generations to come.
Extremism and hate are targeting both communities. A single community fighting alone is easily ignored. Together, we cannot be dismissed.
Antisemitic incidents in our cities have reached record, unsafe levels, threatening the safety of Jewish families across Canada.
B'nai Brith Canada Annual Audit ↗Extremist regimes actively surveil and threaten Iranian families right here in Canada, silencing voices of freedom and dissent.
CSIS Foreign Interference Reports ↗The world is told our communities are enemies, a dangerous lie that hides our true bond and erases 2,500 years of friendship.
Our two communities share the same values, not just overlapping interests. We're mirror images of one another, shaped by millennia of parallel experience.
Both cultures place deep bonds and intergenerational loyalty above all else. The family unit is the foundation of both civilizations.
Both communities treat learning and heritage as the key to survival. Knowledge is sacred in both traditions.
Both have survived persecution and rebuilt stronger communities. Our shared history of endurance is our greatest strength.
Both traditions hold democracy, freedom, and repairing the world at their core. In our cultures, justice isn't political. It's cultural.
The Woven Mosaic isn't a new idea. It's the oldest alliance in recorded history, continued. Persian and Jewish peoples have protected, sheltered, and stood up for each other across 2,500 years. That bond is the foundation of everything we're building today.
This history is almost never taught in schools. Most Canadians, and even many members of our own communities, do not know it exists. The coalition exists, in part, to change that.
Cyrus the Great freed the Jewish people from Babylonian captivity and personally helped rebuild their Temple in Jerusalem. It remains one of the most consequential acts of mercy in recorded history.
Abdol Hossein Sardari, an Iranian diplomat in Paris, risked his life forging documents to save thousands of Jewish families from Nazi deportation.
During the Holocaust, Iran opened its military bases to shelter Jewish orphans and refugees, providing sanctuary when the rest of the world turned its back.
Every one of these stories is fully documented. They form the foundation of who we are, and who we can become together.
This isn't ancient trivia. It's living proof that this coalition is both possible and inevitable.
“Two peoples. One ancient bond. One shared future.”
A step-by-step path to growing our alliance, from grassroots trust to systemic change.
Hosting joint dinners, shared holiday celebrations, and young professional networking events to build authentic, lasting relationships between our communities.
Launching social media campaigns, educational content, and public events to share our hidden history with the broader Canadian public and the world.
Going to government leaders together to demand safety, justice, and recognition. A united front that politicians and media cannot ignore.
Two communities standing together are stronger than the sum of their parts.
When we lobby the government together, we're no longer one group asking for a favor. We become a coalition making a demand.
Two distinct communities demanding shared human rights with one unified voice.
We create a protective shield around each other's activists, families, and communities.
